Polystyrene is used commercially for disposable plastic cutlery, CD cases, plastic model kits, licence plate frames and other items where a cheap, rigid plastic is required. Hobbyists use it for model making, vacuum forming and whenever you need a thin, rigid, inexpensive plastic for general purposes.

ACT Plastics have polystyrene available in black or white in .5mm, .75mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, and 3mm thicknesses in 760x1370mm sheets. Larger 1220x2440mm sheets are also available on request.
